• SMOOTHIE MORNING AT BREAKFAST CLUB

  We had a super morning at Breakfast Club. choosing our own fruit combinations and blending to create tasty and nutritious smoothies.😋 And we tried out some fruits we hadn't tasted before! And after the smoothies we added our fruit and vegetable waste to the compost bin.

  Best wishes to our Primary 7 pupils who were confirmed by Bishop Anthony Farquhar at St. Malachy's Church, Coleraine yesterday evening.

  WOW!! 94.8% of our pupils travelled actively to school today! AND we had  3 classes with 100% of pupils walking, cycling or scooting to school. ... P3, P5 and P6! AMAZING! Well done everyone!! 👏👏 ⭐

  e're thrilled to bits! Almost 91% of our pupils travelled actively to school today. AND we had 4 classes 4 classes with 100% of pupils walking, cycling or scooting to school. ... P3, P4, P5 and P6! FABULOUS! What an amazing effort! Well done everyone!! Thanks so much everyone for making the effort to travel actively to school.

  
  Tomorrow is our final day of the BIG PEDAL challenge... can get our whole school closer to 100%?

  What a cold and windy morning to travel actively to school! 87% of our pupils actively travelled to school. Brilliant! Well done everyone!! AND our star active travellers today were Primary 3 and Primary 6, each with 100% of pupils walking, cycling or scooting to school. FANTASTIC! Thanks so much everyone for making the effort to travel actively to school.

  
  Only 2 more days to go of our challenge... can any more classes get closer to 100%?

• ECO BRICK ASSEMBLY

  A big thank you to Lisa from the National Trust who visited school to speak to us us about our beach, Portstewart Strand, going ‘Plastic Free’ and challenging each pupil to make an ‘Eco-Brick’ in an effort to raise awareness and reduce use of single use plastics.

  
  Dominican College pupils will use these Eco-Bricks to make sculptures which will be unveiled on World Oceans Day on Saturday 8th June at Portstewart Strand.

   

  We’re very excited to be involved in raising awareness of single use plastics and making Portstewart Strand a

  'Plastic Free' beach.
