  • ROAD SAFETY

    Fri 28 Sep 2018

Constables Tracey Russell and James Mullan of PSNI North Coast are working on Road Safety throughout the district of Causeway Coast and Glens to provide a safer environment for road users and pedestrians. During their operation yesterday at St. Colum's Primary they gave advice to parents and pupils about keeping safe at school collection times.

Let’s make the area around our school a safer place at drop off and pick up times. Please do not park or wait on the yellow lines, zig-zags or block the school entrance. To ease congestion please use the Convention Avenue Car Park(beside the Fire Station) before coming to the pedestrian school gate to collect children.

Many thanks for your continued support.

  • SHARED EDUCATION

    Thu 20 Sep 2018

Following on from another successful year of working on our Shared Education Programme with Portstewart Primary, we are pleased to inform you that our Primary 5, 6 and 7 will once again participate in this opportunity. The Shared Education programme is supported by the European Union’s “Peace IV Programme” and is structured to allow schools to forge meaningful links between children of different cultures, religions and social backgrounds.

During the school year 2018-2019 our participation will feature the children in P5, P6 and P7 becoming engaged in a range of projects with their peers from Portstewart Primary School. In broad terms the topics to be covered are:

    • P5 Exploring Music
    • P6 Health/Fitness and Sport Awareness
    • P7 Tourism and Conservation

The topics selected, and the planning required to deliver them, have been chosen and designed by the class teachers of both schools and found to be suitable by the Shared Education Team.

We are looking forward to another successful year of Shared Education with Portstewart Primary.
