Happy World Environment Day!
World Environment Day is celebrated on 5th June each year with the aim of encouraging awareness and action for protection of our environment. The theme for World Environment Day 2020 is, 'Biodiversity' and 'Time for Nature'.
In the simplest terms, biodiversity refers to the variety of life on Earth and is a combination of the words ‘biological’ and ‘diversity’. This includes every life form, be it plants, animals, fungi and even microorganisms like bacteria. The greater the variety of these life forms that live within a habitat or landscape, the more biodiverse that environment is.
We can all do our bit to love the environment even more and we'd love to see any pictures you have of the biodiversity where you are. Why not take on our Eco Schools Five Senses Challenges...https://www.stcolumsprimaryschool.co.uk/eco-schools/
Let us know how you are helping our environment today. Please send us your photos/videos to our Facebook page @stcolums or email to stcolumsoffice186@c2kni.net
Our final Sentinus challenge of the week... Build your own lollipop stick catapult.
