  • PRIMARY 6 VISIT SEAMUS HEANEY HOMEPLACE

    Sat 13 Jan 2018

Primary 6 had a great 'Churning Day' at Seamus Heaney HomePlace yesterday. They found out more about Seamus Heaney and studied his poem 'Churning Day' in more detail, found out how butter was made in the past and now, learned about the origins and traditions of butter making in Ireland, had lots of fun in the Creative Area and even got to make their own butter! What a busy day!

  • CASH FOR CLOBBER COLLECTION

    Fri 12 Jan 2018

Please help us recycle and raise funds for our school. As you know we are taking part in the Cash for Clobber scheme as we work towards our 2nd Eco-school Green Flag award. The scheme is aimed at raising awareness of textile recycling among children and to show how essential it is for everyone in the ‘developed world’ to reduce, reuse and recycle and is also a great way of raising funds for our school. Schools which collect the most textiles per pupil are in with a chance to win the annual ‘Cash for Clobber’ competition with fantastic prizes of up to £1,500

Our next Cash for Clobber Collection is on Wednesday 17th January. Why not have a post-Christmas clear out of old and unwanted clothing and textiles over the weekend?

Bags of clean, unwanted textiles may be left in the school assembly hall next week.

What can you put in the bag??
All types of clothing (even with holes!)
Bags and shoes (please tie shoes together with laces)
    Hats and belts
    Towels and curtains
Bed linen (sheets, pillow cases, duvet covers)

** Remember NO QUILTS or PILLOWS and all items must be clean.**

Many thanks for your continued support.
