As we begin Road Safety Week, please remember to avoid parking on the school entrance markings and pavements, allowing pupils and parents a clear view to cross the road safely.
Reduce congestion in front of the school by using Convention Avenue Car Park(beside the fire station) and 'striding' the short distance to school.
Please share with childminders and carers.
Many thanks for your continued support.
Energy Saving Week 2019 is taking place in Northern Ireland from Monday 18th to Friday 22nd November
2019.
The Energy Saving Trust, alongside the Housing Executive and a range of other stakeholders are
promoting Energy Saving Week and have invited our school to take part in an energy saving challenge.
They are asking pupils to carry out four simple energy saving activities at home, tick off the boxes of the
activities they have completed on the challenge sheet and return the forms to school on Friday 22nd November.
We will then total up the number of pupils who have completed each activity and submit our results to the
Energy Saving Trust who can then issue our school with a certificate stating how much Carbon Dioxide our
pupils have managed to save throughout Energy Saving Week.
Last year we successfully completed the challenge and our carbon emission savings during the week weighed
the same as a Polar Bear! (400-500kg).
Energy Saving Week is a great way to get us all thinking about how we can save energy and to show us all
how simple changes can make a big impact on the environment.
We hope you enjoy The Challenge!
Our Cash for Clobber Collection has moved to next Wednesday, 20th November. Please continue to collect unwanted textiles and leave on the stage in the hall before next Wednesday.
Help us recycle and raise funds for our school.
Many thanks for your continues support.
It's Anti-Bullying Week NI!
The theme of Anti-Bullying Week 2019 is ‘Change Starts With Us‘. The focus of Anti-Bullying Week 2019 is on the theme ‘Change Starts With Us‘.
Whether it is verbal, physical, online or in-person, bullying has a significant impact on a child’s life well in to adulthood. By making small, simple changes, we can break this cycle and create a safe environment for everyone, where everyone is heard.
Because together, we can end bullying.
Change starts here. Change starts now. Change starts with us.
What a lovely evening at the Halloween Disco! Amazing costumes and brilliant dancing! A big thank you to our PTA for organising a super event and to everyone who decorated the hall and helped in any way on the night. Thanks also to Supervalu and Tesco Portstewart for their generous donations to our raffle. Please give them your support.
Congratulations to all our prize winners!

Looking forward to our Feet First Families and Ditch the Dark Day on Friday 25th October!
Aiming to raise awareness of safe travel to school during the darker days and we are encouraging children to actively travel (walk, scoot, cycle, park and stride) to school wearing the brightest clothing they can! (it's a non-uniform day!)
Children are invited to get creative with their outfits and be super bright. The possibilities are endless – bright clothing, fluorescent orange socks, a pink tutu, a neon green wig – get bright, brighter, brightest! You are more than welcome to join the fun yourself! Please feel free to dress to impress in your best neon bright clothing and travel to school actively with your child on the day!
We understand that it might not be possible for everyone to actively travel to school the whole way, particularly if you live far away. In this case we’d encourage you to park in one of the nearby car parks and walk the final part of the journey to school with your child. In doing so we hope to reduce the number of cars around school and have lots of active kids!
Our walking buses will leave leaving Manina and the Warren at 8:40am SHARP on the day.
Our school car park will be closed to ALL traffic except those needing disabled access and delivery vehicles. We plan to use this space for fun activities throughout the day.
Looking forward to a fun filled Active Travel Day!
Many thanks for your continued support.
