Everyone now will be aware of the extended holiday period for schools which has been announced today. School will close on Friday afternoon and reopen on Monday 2nd November at the usual time.
Firstly, I want to thank all parents and carers for their fantastic support since we have reopened and again commend all the children for the hard work, respect and enthusiasm they have shown since their return to school.
Secondly, can I just say how disappointed we all are at this latest announcement. We have all worked together so hard to keep everyone as safe as we could do in these difficult circumstances. However, this is a critical time in managing this pandemic as a society in Northern Ireland.
Mr. Weir, the Minister for Education has announced that as this is to be looked upon as an extended holiday from school there will be no blended learning provision required.
“Education settings will be closed to all pupils during these two weeks including for vulnerable children and children of key workers……… As this is an extension of the half-term break, it is not intended to be used for remote learning.” Peter Weir.

Creator Spirit,
strengthen these children with
your gifts of grace, to love and
serve as a disciple of Christ.
Grant that they may grow into the fullness of the stature of Christ.
Fill them with the joy of your presence.
Increase in them the fruit of your Spirit:
the spirit of wisdom and understanding,
the spirit of love,
patience and gentleness,
the spirit of wonder and true holiness.
Amen
