  • Wear Green on Friday 13th March

    Tue 10 Mar 2026

As part of our celebrations in the lead-up to St Patrick’s Day, the children are warmly invited to wear something green to school this Friday.

We will be holding a special assembly dedicated to our Patron Saint, and pupils in P4–P7 will also enjoy a fun St Patrick’s Day quiz in the afternoon.

In support of Trócaire, we kindly ask for a voluntary donation of £1.00 per child.

  • BIG WALK AND WHEEL

    Fri 06 Mar 2026

This year our school is again participating in the Big Walk and Wheel, organised by the Walk Wheel Cycle Trust, the UK’s largest inter-school cycling, walking, wheeling and scooting challenge. We are asking all children to take part in this challenge from Wednesday 18th March - Friday 27th March.

On each day of the challenge schools compete to see who can record the greatest number of pupils, staff and parents who walk, cycle, scoot or park and stride to school. A school’s best five days will determine their final position. We also have some great prizes to win in our school.

This is a fantastic opportunity for our school to continue working towards becoming more environmentally sustainable by reducing carbon emissions caused by traffic and is a positive step towards reducing car congestion around the school. It is also a healthy option for our pupils. We will also be using the challenge as a means of achieving our next Eco-Schools Green Flag award. We are looking forward to two great weeks of active school travel.

To celebrate the end of our Big Walk and Wheel Challenge we will hold a BIG BREAKFAST in the hall on Friday 27th March.

    Dear Parents,

We will be celebrating World Book Day on Thursday 5th March. This is always a special occasion in our school calendar, and we are looking forward to a fun-filled day that promotes a love of reading across all year groups.

All children are invited to come to school dressed as a character from their favourite book. Costumes can be simple or homemade — the focus is on enjoyment and celebrating stories.

Throughout the day, pupils will take part in a range of World Book Day themed activities, including reading, creative tasks, games, and storytelling linked to our whole-school focus on the joy of books.

P1–P3 parents are warmly invited to join us for our School Reading Café from 9.30am to 10.30am.

Children can enjoy a tasty porridge and fruit snack, while you relax and share books together in a cosy, welcoming atmosphere. Tea and coffee will also be available for parents.

P4–P7 pupils are invited to take part in our Book Cover Re-Design Competition. Children can choose any book they love and create a brand-new front cover for it. They may use any materials they like, and P6–P7 pupils are welcome to complete their designs digitally if they prefer.

We look forward to celebrating World Book Day together and seeing all the wonderful costumes and creativity on display.
