EDEN AWARD CELEBRATION TRIP TO BELFAST BOTANIC GARDENS
Our Primary 7 class had a great day with Portstewart Primary at Belfast Botanic Gardens as part of our Rolls Royce Eden Award Prize for our ‘Marvellous Movers’ Project. Three super workshops... Rainforest Feasts and Edible Plants in the Tropical Ravine and a digital botanical workshop in the Ulster Museum ... all designed to enrich the children’s knowledge of and interest in the living world through hands on and digital experiences.
A huge thank you to Cailín Lynn and her team at Belfast Botanic Gardens, and to Rani Gill, Project Manager for the Rolls-Royce Science Prize, who travelled from Derby to share our day.
What? You haven’t heard about 'Marvellous Movers'? Well, over 460 pupils, from our two Portstewart schools, designed and made their own vehicles from recycled materials and powered them with renewable energy. We won the Eden Award and were Runners-up in the Rolls-Royce Science Prize. 😃🌱
