Dear Parents,
We will be celebrating World Book Day on Thursday 5th March. This is always a special occasion in our school calendar, and we are looking forward to a fun-filled day that promotes a love of reading across all year groups.
All children are invited to come to school dressed as a character from their favourite book. Costumes can be simple or homemade — the focus is on enjoyment and celebrating stories.
Throughout the day, pupils will take part in a range of World Book Day themed activities, including reading, creative tasks, games, and storytelling linked to our whole-school focus on the joy of books.
P1–P3 parents are warmly invited to join us for our School Reading Café from 9.30am to 10.30am.
Children can enjoy a tasty porridge and fruit snack, while you relax and share books together in a cosy, welcoming atmosphere. Tea and coffee will also be available for parents.
P4–P7 pupils are invited to take part in our Book Cover Re-Design Competition. Children can choose any book they love and create a brand-new front cover for it. They may use any materials they like, and P6–P7 pupils are welcome to complete their designs digitally if they prefer.
We look forward to celebrating World Book Day together and seeing all the wonderful costumes and creativity on display.
